Nambu Tekki Mosquito Coil Holder
Nambu tekki is a form of ironware produced in Morioka, Iwate prefecture, Japan. It dates back to 17th century Edo period. Chushin Kobo was established in 1997 by Hisanori Masuda. As the company is not as old as other foundries, he is able to build on traditional practices and explore more contemporary designs.
This mosquito coil holder was our first encounter with Masuda San's work. It's design draws from tradition but is also relevant in a contemporary environment.
