Vintage Woodblock Prints - Shibaura
Japanese ukiyo-e, which translates to “pictures of the floating world”, refers to a genre of woodblock prints and paintings that flourished in Japan during the Edo period.
Ukiyo-e prints are produced through a meticulous process of woodblock printing. An artist first sketches a design on paper, which is then transferred onto a series of wooden blocks, each representing a different color in the final image.
The print will be sold together with a natural wooden frame.
